Kizmit Designs

Privacy Policy

Last updated: 25 September 2026. This notice is issued under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (India).

This notice explains what personal data Kizmit Designs collects, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the rights you have over it. It is written to be read, not to be skimmed past. If anything here is unclear, our Grievance Officer's contact details are at the bottom.

Who we are

What we collect, and why

We collect only what we need for the purpose stated. We do not ask for date of birth, gender, or other profiling fields to sell you a blouse or a saree.

Order and payment records To fulfil the order, handle returns, and meet GST and income tax obligations At checkout
Email address To send marketing, only if you have separately opted in Newsletter signup
Messages you send us To answer your question Contact form, email, WhatsApp
Device and browsing data (IP address, pages viewed, referring site) To keep the site working and, where you consent, to measure and improve it While browsing

We also sell at exhibitions and pop-ups. Where we take your details in person, this notice applies to that data too.

The basis on which we process it

We rely on two things under the DPDP Act:

  • Your consent — given by a clear, affirmative action, for marketing communications and for non-essential analytics and advertising cookies. Consent is never bundled with checkout, and never pre-ticked.
  • Certain legitimate uses permitted by the Act — chiefly where you voluntarily give us data for a purpose you asked for, such as placing an order, and where we must keep records to comply with Indian law.

Who else handles your data

These are our Data Processors. They act on our instructions, and we share your data with them only for the purpose described against each one.

  • Shopify — our store platform, hosting and checkout
  • Payment gateway — to take and secure your payment
  • Courier and logistics partners — they receive your name, address and phone number solely to deliver your order
  • Email and messaging tools — to send order updates, and marketing where you have opted in
  • Analytics and advertising providers — including site analytics and advertising pixels, which run only where you have consented

We do not sell your personal data.

How long we keep it

  • Marketing data — until you withdraw consent, after which we stop and erase it.
  • Account data — until you ask us to delete it, or the account is inactive and the purpose is served.
  • Order, invoice and tax records — retained for the period Indian tax law requires, even if you ask for deletion. We will erase everything not covered by that obligation and tell you what we kept and why.

Your rights as a Data Principal

Under the DPDP Act you may:

  • Access — ask for a summary of the personal data we hold about you, what we do with it, and who we have shared it with.
  • Correct, complete or update — ask us to fix anything inaccurate or out of date.
  • Erase — ask us to delete your personal data, except where we must keep it by law.
  • Withdraw consent — at any time, and as easily as you gave it. Every marketing email carries an unsubscribe link that works immediately. You may also email us and we will action it.
  • Nominate — name another person to exercise these rights on your behalf if you die or become incapacitated.
  • Grievance redressal — complain to us first, using the details below.

To exercise any of these, email our Grievance Officer at kizmitdesigns.in@gmail.com with the email address or phone number used on your order, so we can identify you. We will respond within the timeline set out below. There is no charge.

Withdrawing consent does not make past processing unlawful, and may mean we can no longer provide a service that depended on it.

Cookies and tracking

Cookies strictly necessary to run the store — keeping your cart, letting you log in, securing checkout — are always active, as the site cannot function without them.

Analytics and advertising cookies run only after you have accepted them. You can accept or reject them when you first visit, and change your choice at any time from the cookie settings on the site. Rejecting them does not restrict your access to the store.

Children

Our store is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect the personal data of anyone under the age of 18 without verifiable consent from a parent or legal guardian, and we do not carry out behavioural tracking, profiling, or targeted advertising directed at children.

If you are a parent or guardian and believe a child has given us personal data, email our Grievance Officer and we will erase it.

How we protect your data

Your connection to this site is encrypted, and access to customer data is restricted to the people who need it to process your order. If a personal data breach occurs, we will notify the Data Protection Board of India and affected users as required by the Act.

Grievance Officer

If you have a question or complaint about how we handle your personal data, contact our Grievance Officer:

  • Name: Jasbir Chakraborty
  • Designation: Grievance Officer, Kizmit Designs

Changes to this notice

If we change how we use your personal data, we will update this page and change the date at the top. Where the change requires it, we will ask for your consent again.
