The making of Latika Gadwal Paithani Designer Saree

Peacock Motif (Mor Butti) Designer Saree in Cotton Semi-Silk

Most Paithani-style sarees favor heavier silk, so building this one in lightweight cotton semi-silk is a deliberate departure — comfortable through long ceremonies without losing the density of a proper Paithani-style pallu and border.

Peacock (Mor Butti) motifs are the defining feature here. They run through the richly woven pallu and border — the single most recognisable motif in the Paithani vocabulary, drawn from the bird's fanned tail and rendered in zari against the weave. A striking contrast blouse fabric adds visual depth against the body of the saree rather than matching it tone-for-tone.

A balance of comfort and grace, staying close to India's textile heritage while suiting festive or ceremonial occasions where you're on your feet for hours.
